Dormitory Kuwanoki Dormitory
Period of Stay April 2025 to September 2025

Why Did I Apply?

There are two reasons why I applied. First, I used to live in International Student Shared House and had the opportunity to observe the activities of the Kuwanoki RAs, which sparked my interest. Unlike in Shared House, the RA position offers the unique opportunity to interact with many international students through events and daily support. I wanted to take on this new challenge.  Second, I was planning to study abroad after leaving Kuwanoki, so I wanted to gain experience interacting with international students beforehand. Since RAs plan and organize community events, I thought this role would help me develop the ability to take initiative and engage with other international students during my study abroad.

What I Gained from Being an RA

What I appreciated most was the new connections I was able to make. I had many opportunities to interact not only with other residents but also with fellow RAs and the dormitory managers. Since my stay was relatively short, I was allowed to get involved in RA duties right after moving in. Having supportive dormmates who helped me whenever I was unsure about something made me feel very reassured. At first, I felt a bit lonely living alone after moving, but thanks to the new relationships I built, I quickly felt at home.

What I Learned

Through my life as an RA, I developed a strong sense of cooperation and responsibility. Unlike Shared House, dormitory life as an RA involves working closely with the dorm managers, other RAs, and the staff of the International Education and Student Mobility Division. We carry out various duties and organize community events together, which require constant communication, progress sharing, and meeting deadlines. Through these experiences, I learned to manage my tasks efficiently and act responsibly as part of a team.

Message to Applicants

As an RA, I had the opportunity to meet and be inspired by many wonderful people. Their support and encouragement made my time in the dorm truly meaningful and fulfilling. It was a rare and rewarding experience that I would not have had otherwise. If you are interested, I encourage you to take on the challenge. It will be an unforgettable journey, and I am cheering for your new adventure!
