Kuwanoki RA and Japanese Residents of International Student Shared House
Okayama University has four dormitories for international students, and International Students and Japanese students live together in Kuwanoki Dormitory and International Student Shared House. Japanese residents are selected through an open recruitment process in spring and/or fall. The number of applicant changes depending on the number of current residents moving in and out of the dormitory, so please check with the International Affairs Department for details.
Kuwanoki RA (Resident Assistant)
Kuwanoki RAs are students tasked with supporting international students living in the dormitory to ensure they have a meaningful daily life experience. While living alongside the international residents, RAs provide assistance with day-to-day matters and are responsible for planning and organizing cultural exchange events. For certain duties, compensation is provided based on performance. Eight RAs support approximately 150 international students, making this position an invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience in fostering intercultural understanding.

- Following the tour of Kuwanoki Dormitory, you also have the option to visit International Student Shared House.

- If you have already attended a previous tour, you may apply without participating again.

Japanese Residents of International Student Shared House
The purpose of the International Student Shared House is for international and Japanese students studying at Okayama University to cultivate a sense of internationalism by experiencing the language, culture, and lifestyle of another country through daily life. The building is designed so that each resident can have their own private room, while four students live together as one unit, allowing for natural interaction between residents.
