Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 (or Level 1)

Those to whom any of the following apply. (4), however, is an application qualification only when specified by the applicant’s advising professor.
 (1) Graduates of a Japanese university (four-year, in Japan) or those expecting to graduate　
 (2) Those with a score of 240 or higher on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, Japanese as a Foreign Language section, conducted by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) within the two years prior to submitting their application
 (3) Those with an N1 passing score or an N2 score of 110 or higher on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test conducted by JASSO within the two years prior to submitting their application
 (4) Those with a score of 61 or higher on the TOEFL-iBT, conducted within the two years prior to submitting their application, or those with English proficiency equivalent to a score of 61 or higher (limited to those whose native language or first official language is English).

Any of the following documents notifying of passing (excepting those in whose countries these tests are not held, and those who have graduated from Japanese universities, junior colleges or technical colleges (or who are expecting to graduate)):
Ⅰ. Notification of passing Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1
Ⅱ. Notification of a score of 280 or higher on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, Japanese as a Foreign Language section
Ⅲ. Notification of a score of 79 or higher on the TOEFL (Internet-based), 213 or higher on the TOEFL (Computer-based) or 550 or higher on the TOEFL (Paper-based) test
Ⅳ. Notification of a score of 6.0 or higher on the IELTS test

(1) Any of the following documents certifying language proficiency (Those whose native language is English need not submit these)
1) Certificate of passing Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or higher
2) Notification of a score of 220 or higher on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, Japanese as a Foreign Language section
3) Notification of a score of 61 or higher on TOEFL・iBT
4) Notification of a score of 510 or higher on TOEFL・ITP
5) Notification of a score of 695 or higher on TOEIC
(2) Certification of language proficiency (Japanese or English) (Needed only when not submitting (1)) (designated format)

Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 or higher, or TOEFL･iBT score of 61 or higher, or IELTS score of 5.0or higher

Those possessing any of the following (including those who have equivalent levels of language proficiency).
・Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or higher
・TOEFL・PBT（including ITP）score of 500 or higher
・TOEFL・CBT score of 173 or higher
・TOEFL・iBT score of 61 or higher
・TOEIC score of 590 or higher
・IELTS (overall score) 5.5 or higher

For the Start-up Class, N3 (120 points or more) or N2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test or Japanese proficiency equivalent to these levels;
For the Basic Class, those who have passed N2 or N1

Those who have obtained the approval of their prospective advising supervisor.

Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 or higher, or TOEFL･iBT score of 61 or higher, or IELTS score of 5.0or higher

An officially certified certificate of language proficiency (One of the followings)
・Japanese Language Proficiency Examination level N2 or higher
・TOEFL iBT 72 or higher
・TOEIC listening & Reading 785 or higher
・TOEIC Speaking & Writing 310 or higher
・IELTS (overall score) 5.5 or higher
・CET6（College English Test)
Those who cannot submit the above-mentioned certificate should submit a letter of language proficiency evaluation written by prospective professor (Format doesn’t matter).

An officially certified certificate of language proficiency (One of the followings)
・Japanese Language Proficiency Examination level N2 or higher
・TOEFL iBT 72 or higher
・TOEIC listening & Reading 785 or higher
・TOEIC Speaking & Writing 310 or higher
・IELTS (overall score) 5.5 or higher
Those who cannot submit the above-mentioned certificate should submit a letter of language proficiency evaluation written by prospective professor (Format doesn’t matter).
